A memorable first
Carl Edwards scored his first career victory in thrilling fashion, when at Atlanta in 2005 he passed Jimmie Johnson just before the finish line to win by .028 seconds.

Well it's goign to be a good race I think. I'm going to go with Kurt Busch and Carl Edwards to duke it out this week. Jeff Gordon runs well, but he hasn't won here in 7 years and I don't look fro ti to change. Although I would love to see Jeff Gordon win this weekend because he is driving a car designed by his daughter, and i know htere is nothing he would love more than to take a car his daughter designed to victory lane. That would be very special towatch, but I just don't see it happening.

Nascar.com is hard heavy loading... hurts my computer most days. But this thing is screwed most days and I don't know why.
I agree Atlanta should be an exciting race. But then, so should Bristol have been and that one crapped off. I think Carl is a great pick, but I'll choose differently for the sake of good friendly competition. I also think I'll leave "my boys" alone this week - they need the help that I can't give 'em!
I've become a Hamlin fan inspite myself. He's by far my favorite Toyota in the fleet and he just snagged the pole. A pretty good pick - Hammy can mix 'n bash and he will to secure this. I eagerly anticipate the day he dumps Kyle - it'll be a good show that will rumble JGRacing to its foundation. It will happen. I also find it interesting that FedEx sold the primary sponsorship off for the race. There are so few full time sponsors left in this (FedEx had been one). Bud is part time next year. We're down to UPS, Home Depot, Lowe's, Napa & MillerLite. Can you think of others?
I have really grown on Keselowski too. I just like the guy. And I don't see him as a particularly aggressive driver like some would make him out to be. He recently told SI that he harbored no animosity to Carl Edwards because he felt Carl was a good guy off track, but couldn't say the same about Kyle Busch.
I'm also thinking Clint Bowyer is in the money now. I've always favored him as the best Childress driver and inspite my wishes he's remained solid through the end of this "regular" season (pre chase that is). He'll keep up.
Scott Riggs missed the field again in Blaney's old 66 (he hasn't qualified it yet), while Blaney's in - in the 38 A&W car. Maybe he'll get to finish a race? Canadian Carpentier made the field in the Latitude 46 #26 car, but he's probably driver for free. The last 2 Latitude 46 drivers quit complaining of failure to meet "financial obligations".
My picks:
1. Denny Hamlin
2. Jimmie Johnson
3. Clint Bowyer
# of cautions: 11
last place: Micheal McDowell
1st to cause a caution: Sam Hornish
