Member's Picks for Bristol 3/20/11

Qualifying is in!! Edwards on Pole, biffle along side... .Fords are looking tough in qualifying for a lot of races here lately... and Edwards used to be a bad qualifier....
NASCAR.COM
Paul Menard was a bold pick last year... still a little iffy this year if you ask me, but he has been carrying the childress banner all year, and he qualified 4th. Jeff Gordon is 7th, Jimmy is 6th, Kyle Busch is 12th, and Kurt Busch is 21st. Earnhardt Jr. is back there with him in 22nd.
Wonder if I ought to swap ol Kurt Busch for Tony Stewart? Stewart has been running great this year!! Qualified and practiced well....

Still pickin' with my heart. My heart is in the right place and I'm even pickin' a Toyota (a long shotand first time for me - but not Pyle Buschit!) RCR is a bunch of bad picks IMO. They messed up a good formula adding Menard, but I'm hoping Burton can really salvage something soon. Who was fastest in Happy Hour? (see. No. 2)
1. Dale Jr.
2. Mark Martin
3. Joey Logano (bonus incentive for picking a fight w/ Newman last Bristol!)
last: Mike McDowell
1st caution: Peblo (qualified 36th :snicker
# of cautions: 8

Yeah, happy hour was interesting... with Edwards coming up 33rd. Sometimes though, practice isn't a good indication because if the guys know they have a good car, especially at a track where a practice crash is likely, they won't run it taht hard or run it in packs because they don't want to crash it.
It seems like the guys at the bottom went to the top in final practice. That miracle at RPM seems to be coming to a close, with the cars in 33rd and 37th. They're not really a short track organization though, nor are teh drivers short track kind of guys. And RCR... couldn't agree with Brent more... they screwed up a few years ago and had a 4th car, downsized to three, and all three cars made the chase.... Wish Dale Earnhardt was still around to slap the $hit out of Childress for making the same mistake twice.
I'm ready for some Bristol here!!!
And thanks for the picture there, 'Space. I noted the confederate flag in the picture of the D in Darlington. Very mcuh more political correct these days... the winner of that race used to carry a giant confederate flag to victory lane and they would play dixie over the loud speakers... go to 4:30 on this video to see what I'm talking about. Yarborough had edged Pearson to win the Southern 500 by a few car lenghts... a very close margin for that day and age.
