Think the Fusion is AWD.
And when I was at RCR, it's amazing to see how much stuff they run today that they have been running forever. The rear rend is the same Ford 9" rear end that has been run since hte early 60s in every car. The front suspension is based on the '68 Chevelle. The frame is based on a '66 Fairlane frame that Holman-Moody made in that same year. The only thing they changed on the COT was added a lot of bracing to it and moved the roll cage farther out. They say they moved the driver more to the center of the car... but they didn't, they moved the door out.
What has really changed is the engines, the bodies, and NASCAr putting them in a box for what they can adjust and work on.

Now that would be fun. They should add roll cages, race seat's and 5 pt harnesses and run actual cars right off the showroom floor. maybe they could make it part of the all star weekend. Then they could sell the cars for charity.

First off i said resemble not exact, so no need to go in great detail about the doors & rwd, they resemble the street car more than our current stock cars, the current ones are a box with diff noses, these new cars have the full shape of the real car!

I was thinking the the street and stock car looked a lot alike!

That to me is a huge selling feature! My understanding is that Ford developed this car in conjuction with what they could produce in NASCAR. The street car is designed to fit a NASCAR template. And the last time anybody did this we got the 6th Gen Monte Carlo - its body it also backward engineered.
I think the car looks awesome. Can they really keep the same low price point? The current model Fusion starts at just over $20,000. If they are that cheap then I'll buy one. This car moves right to the top of the list. Looks far better then the Chev Malibu
