Jerry, tehre may very well be... especially an indepednent driver. But by '71, most Chevrolet teams ran the Monte Carlo. In '72, the owner of Charlotte actually bought three Chevrolet Monte Carlo's and entered them in teh race... don't think any of them won though. I may have to draw up the picture soon...

I believe that was Atlanta in 1967. Not that it matters a whole lot. Timing and scoring was a lot more exciting back then....
I think Nascar needs to bring this back

Photo for today..... this is another shot of that Impala that was on the trailer a few days ago, only with a different number. It's sitting on pit road at Daytona.

Cool pics there Duane. I have a soft spot for the 59. Would like to own one. I enjoy the daily photo, no one is really posting responses but that doesn't mean you have to quit. Great history lesson. It is very apparent those were street cars at one point. They should go back to that.
Maybe it is because my nickname is Byrd, but I have a soft spot for anything with WINGS...

I know there are some people lurking out there... Brent and STUMPMI post sometimes... I could dig up some more pictures of Linda Vaughn in her hey day and pull Brent back out of hiding I'm sure.

That's awesome! And they probably had a rope tied around them for a seat belt and a leather helmet!

Classic NASCAR Photo of the Day: Who says back in the day, only two door cars ran NASCAR? Someone forgot to tell Ed Brown, who ran this 4 door Oldsmobile at Riverside, CA roadcourse in about 1964-1965.
