The final is finally here! I've been dreading this day! J/K... well, kinda! I don't want to give it back! "It" being the MOTY crown.
The best part about winning Monte of the Year is that you don't have to win Monte of the Year any more. Before I won last year, during the voting, I was trying to play it cool. I never really expected to win, but I sure as hell wanted to! I hadn't really mentioned how much I wanted that title - right from the moment that I knew it existed. I'm so happy that anxiety is behind me now. I know 10 members are feeling disappointed right now and one more will before this is done. I hope everyone takes losing better than me.
But we are presented with 2 awesome Monte Carlos that are probably more deserving of the MOTY title. I'm happy with the finalist and it should be a good race. I wonder if anyone will employ the strategy I used last year. If you remember, the finals were back and forth and tied up until the last few minute of polling when I finally (and selfishly) cast my own vote to break the tie. I still can't believe that worked...
