Could we just lighten our doors. Mabye swiss cheese the metal inside and get some polycarb windows? That would have to help?

Not really. You dont have to worry about shattering glass as much on side impacts and its not gonna weaken the metal that much really, just dont do it in the main supports.

Have any of you guys picked up one of these doors with everything in it? If they dont weight 100lbs they probably weight more. The thin metal framing around the window was not made to hold up that much weight, its not physically strong enough. In order to make gull wing doors out of them, you would have to attach one end of a hinge to the roof area and the other end to the window frame of the door. Unless you cut a good bit of weight out or reinforced the window frame of the door, it wont safely work. Go out and look at your car. Imagine grabbing the door by the very top by the window and holding it up in the air and maybe you will be able to picture it. I dont really know how else to better explain it.

the only dif on the gull wing and scissor doors on this particular cars kit is that one swings up and down like a scisor, and one swings outware like a wing, i dont think any of the kits were intended for window fraim mounting i think everybodys getting confused, either that or i am, XD

This is what I picture when I say gull wing doors. Note the hinges on the window frames of the doors. Also note how they reinforced around the window frame. Im not quite sure how else they make the kits.

coudlnt find a single img, got that from the site, some of these images show them mounted at the bottom corner of the A piller, thats how you'd mount it on the monte.

O ok I see what you mean. Those arent really "gull wing" doors. More of a gull wing verticle door hybrid it seems. More like something you would see on a lambo or ferarri. Not really the Mercedes gull wing doors I was picturing.

it's still considred a gullwing i think because it lifts upward insread of sideways in a scisor motion.
