Default why 2 ignition switches

My ignition switch went bad on my 1995 z34. I've been looking for the part online, but there are 2 different switches. One costs twice as much as the other. Why when they look identical. Is the resistor in the key part of it? How do I know if it's okay to buy the cheaper one?

If anyone knows, please let me in on this info. Both of my cars are dead and I have to get a ride to work everyday.

Default RE: why 2 ignition switches

ok- after some web searching and a visit to autozone I guess the difference is in the consoles. How do I know which part I need? GM part 01990188 or GM part 26030876.

Price difference is huge so I want to save the money if I can. $65 vs. $120

nevermind- just ordered the part from autozone.
