Where do I place the jack to lift the motor?
2000 Monte Carlo SS -
I need to replace the motor mount and I would like as much info about the job before attempting it.
1) Where do I place the jack to lift the motor?
2) Are there any common problems associated with the swap out of the old mount with the new?
3) Are the any general pointers you can offer on the job?
The mount looks collapsed and there is a serious vibration/shake in the front end when accelerating / under torque.
Thanks!

Im just curious what you mean by "Motor" Mounts.
The Torque arm/Wishbone mount? (Upper)
Or the lower transaxle mounts? (Lower)
Maybe you could post a picture of what Mount s your asking about..

I used 3 18 inch 2x4s screwed together to support the weight of the engine and transmission. I jacked this up across the oil pan and the transmission pan. This works fine and distribute the weight well. If your oil pan is rusted out I would recommend an engine hoist and left from the top. Don't forget to remove dogbone mounts. Its an easy job and took me about 45 mins per mount.
