What should the normal coolant temp be running on a 05 Monte with the 3.4 V6?

mine is running at about 200 right in the middle of the gauge, is that the normal range?

Thanks, Mike.

My 00 LS 3.4 and my 06SS 5.3 run normal about there middle on the guage. That sounds about right with the 195 T stat.

yah your fine, the t-stat should be a 195 in there...and most cars i've driven unless they have a 180 in them sit around the middle of the guage

Thanks,

I thought it was normal, but on most of the recent vehicles I have owned the temp gauge stays alot closer to the low end of the gauge, not in the middle.

Mike.
I used to build meters and guages and I can confidently say that the poor quality of meter installed on today's cars is probably hovering around a 5% margin of error.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was even 7-10% error.

I wouldn't worry about it then... Once it hits 210-220, then swap the T-Stat. If that doesn't do it, start worrying.
