Exclamation what kind of fuel should i run in my o5 supercharged

I heard you were suppose to run 93 octane but the closest I could get around here was 89.5 i think and that was ethanol which i recently heard was bad, but i put octane booster in it. should i switch to regular 87 instead of plus because those are basically the only two types we have here.

Highest octane you can find.

Don't bother with those octane boosters, they do nothing.

You are supposed to run nothing but Premium gas in the 3800 S/C...so at least 91 Octane. But if all you have is 89 Octane, then run that, but you probably should not beat on the car to much. DO NOT run 87, thats no good for the S/C 3800.

It's been several years (back in the late 70s/early 80s) but we used to go to the airport and purchase aviation fuel to run in our high compression engines. I don't know if that is an alternative these days though. The only addative I use now is Chevron Techron to lube the fuel pump and clean the fuel system.

THe owner's manual states the 3800 S/C must use premium fuel. If you do not, it make knock and ping, at which they suggest getting premium fuel in it ASAP.

So, go for the highest octane you can find, and try to stay away from ethenol based fuels (like the E85).

yeah see thats my problem th highest is 89.5 but its ethanol the regular which has no ethanol is 87, not sure maybe I'll have to look in a town a little ways away for premium gas.

Chibi-Thanks for the advice I was pretty sure thy were useless so I pretty much threw $15 down the drain for an expensive one at O riellys, but thanks for the future knowledge

MAMONTE-I don't beat my cars, I'm young yes but I was taught to treat the things you own with respect even when I had a $500 Cavalier. The most action my Montes get is passing someone, I don't race people with them either, also thanks for the advice

I'm sure the highest rating we have in the surrounding towns here is 89.5 but I will check a few towns theres one thats 15 miles away that may have more selection otherwise 30 miles is my closest that is likey to have moire selections, but thats onyl a couple gallons of gas use back and fourth and I'd say its well worth it if its for my engine

Check out the below stations for 93 Octane
p.s. We were taught the same way on how to treat our rides ~> with Respect...It took me awhile to learn that : )
But, I've found that if you respect your Monte (Rides), that your Monte will respect U back...Good Luck on finding your 93 Octane "Race Fuel"...
