Will the engine turn over if you jump the terminals at the starter solenoid?

 

If your Im (Ignition Module ) is bad, your engine will crank But not turn over. If your engine will not crank then you could have a bad Starter Relay, Fuse or starter celenoid. Its a lot to check. Jumping yoour starter will narrow it down some. GOOD Luck!

 

i can hear a relay click but not sure if its the ignition relay or not, and i believe my fuel pump activates when i turn key to on because i hear a humming noise from the back/center of the car which leads me to believe its not the ignition switch. car cranks when starter is jumped but wont start. (car has been sitting for ruffly 6months though, all was good other than a failing starter when parked (starter brand new/refurb)) i will check ground wire. and how to do you test for a bad IM? or is there no way other than replacing? and iv check all related/semirelated fuses multiple times

 

Tested Igniton relay and crank relay by Oming them out and there both good and my car doesnt crank so its not the IM right?

 

talked to a mechanic friend who says i need to take to dealer and get resistor reset since i got a new tumble... **** me

 

Is your Security light on? If you change the Ignition switch the problem could be that you haven't done a relearn. Just put "Security Relearn" in you search engine and the procedure will come up. Jumping it may help temporarily, at least get it to start for a While, But if you have a security lock out you need to do the Relearn. You might Also want to have your security/body control module checked out. If it is bad even the relearn is a temporary fix.
