A little hard to follow with no punctuation, but are you asking for help with an oil leak? I'm not really following how its connected to the cooling system stuff at all though.

With any oil leak that's been going on for awhile, my #1 is to 100% clean the area first (de-greaser + hose, power washer, steamer, etc - whatever your method of choice is). Get the entire suspect area 100% pristine. Don't have to go crazy with the whole engine, but at least a basketball sized area that's suspect.

Then start it up and look for where its coming from (rev it if you have to to build oil pressure). They have UV dye that's compatible with oil if needed, but Ive literally never needed it if the area is truly prisitine and has dirty oil dribbling down it.

Being a 3800 and appears to be coming from 'above the oil pan', I'd take a real close look at that valve cover gasket. But if its been overheated as a result of the cooling issues, any / all gaskets are suspect.

Just to make sure I'm following correctly - are you saying the oil leak varies intensity by which thermostat you've got in it? That's a bizarre one if so.

When its leaking heavily, how much oil loss are we talking?

Are you able to run a normal thermostat in it right now?

Nice! Definitely got lucky on that one; you couldn't ask for an easier / cheaper thing to go wrong.

Yep Bumpin96monte sure is now on to the fuel level sensor cause it works for like 2 min then quits but when it works it's accurate I got it as acheap as a fixer upper I'm the second owner only paid 800 and no rust underneath cause the leak must have been going on for some time let's just say it's well oiled under there
