Default water pouring out

We just bought a 2003 monte carlo. First off the rpms run very high so we changed the sensor. It still does it. Then it had a small water leak. Well now it pours water out as fast as im pouring it in. What is going on with this thing?? Help please. Neither me nor my husband are mechanics. Thank you

My guess with your water problems is it is pouring through your cabin air filter. Look at this link for a permenant fix. This is what I used. Here is the link.

Sounds like you could have an intake gasket leak. That would cause high idle and the loss of coolant.

Where are you finding the water/Coolant leaking from? Is it inside the car or from the motor! If it's in the motor, what area of the motor? A pic would be great to help you diagnose this!

Had my brother look at it and he thinks it is 2 different things. Looks like radiator has a leak. But that doesnt explain the very high idle. Changed sensor and reset it. Still doing it. I am at a loss

What sensor was changed? There are lots of sensors on modern engines...

The leak could be a cracked coolant elbow. They are a very common problem on the 3800 motor.

These cars also get a coolant lock up if air gets into the cooling system. Cause in hi and irratic idle. This can happen if you have a leak or if the system is not completely purged of air. This happened to me after replacing the upper radiator hose. The Temp would be hi, and when you turn the car off you hear what sounds like bubbling. At any rate, I think if you fix the leak and purge all the air out of the system your car will run fine!
