[align=left]I just want to start and say what a great website, i just bought a 2002 Monte SS limited edition, i love the car but today i left work and it started right up fine, drove to the gas station. went to leave and a severe long crank, to fire up only when warm. cold is fine, i was wonding if this is a common fix for these cars or if i need to take it to the dealer.. please help this newbie. thanks guys

I would do a full tune up to be safe as it could be a number of different things. New plugs would be my guess. But with a new car, you might want to check fuel filter, air filter, etc - those won't really help much, but may help other things in general.

 

as mine has gotten older it did this also but i changed the plugs and wires and all seems fine. The deler says 100k is good for tune ups sorry im old school enough to not trust this

 

Thanks Guys, i have done the full tune up and it hasnt acted up since i called a GM buddy and he gave me a few ideas about crank/firing sequence and it all makes sense. Being a VW Tech. doesnt really help working on the monte but its all worth it everytime i drive it.
