Default 96 Monte won't start when warm.....help!

I have searched the forums and did not find anything on this. A couple years ago I bought a 96 Monte Carlo LS. It ran great until recently. When the engine is cool it will fire right up and run fine. But say I start it, drive it somewhere and park it. When I come back to start it it will shake bad, knock and have lots of trouble stay running. If I feather the gas after about 5 or 10 mins if I manage to keep it running it will run fine again. Today I drove it to the mall fine but when I tried to leave it shook and carried on for a while. Then I came home and my girlfriend got off work early, when I tried to start it to go get her, it ran for a little shaking and knocking but no matter how much gas I gave it, it stalled out and would not even try to run. I ruled out the fuel pump, I checked and I have plenty of fuel at the motor. Does anyone know what this problem could be? Thanks!!

Default Same problem with my 97

That is exactly the same problem I have with my 97.

It would be great if someone could offer advice to us both.

Thanks

Rog

Check your MAF sensor, try unplugging it when the issue occurs

Sounds like it could be the MAF to me. Every time I had a MAF issue, it always gave the symptoms after it warmed up.

Yes it turns over but refuses to start. Where is the MAF located?

I changed my mass airflow sensor and that wasn't the problem. Even though I had fuel at my motor and the pressure seemed to be fine, I stuck a new fuel pump in it and now it runs great again! Thanks everyone for your input!
