Hey guys i have a 2006 monte carlo 3LT and something funky is going on with the vents. If i try to switch the a/c or heat from taking the air from outside to circulating the air inside the car, it won't switch over and the car makes a fairly loud clicking sound. It also happens when i try to switch heat to the defroster, but not for the a/c. Also when i use the remote start it does the same thing, im guessing because it automatically puts it on circulate.

The clicking sounds like it's coming from undernight the dash, maybe on the passenger side. Anyone else had this issue? Any do it yourself fixes?

 

Sounds like 1 of 2 things, either you have an accuator going bad or one of the doors inside the heater box is seizing up.

 

well after researching more about the actuators i found it is a pretty common problem. Thanks for that word haha, that's all it took. When i fix this i'll probley post a how-to just incase others run into the same problem.
