Need a good brand and a how-to without the special socket for it. What other tool could I use to get it done? Been driving for about a week since the code was thrown so I need to do it asap.

 

It's just a slotted socket that you need. Unless you hack off the wire first.

It's not a bad job. Just warm up the engine a little bit, then rock it forward. D/C the battery.

Then you just have to unclip the wire and unscrew the sensor. Replace, reconnect the battery, and you're good to go

 

Why warm up the engine first? It's a tight fit b/w the engine and firewall... don't want it to be toasty.

Is Bosch a decent brand? And how long can I keep driving before it gets bad? I've put about 700 miles since the code first showed up. Couldn't get to an OBD II until today to check it out so I didn't know.

 

If you warm up the exhaust a bit it makes it easier to get loose. I would try and get it fixed asap before it trashes your cat converter.

 

BOSCH is not good.

Should be OK for another 50 miles or so, right? I don't actually know how long I can run the car with an old O2 sensor and not damage anything. The sensor won't be here until Wednesday, I'm hoping I can hold out a little bit longer without damaging anything.

 

The car is just running on old tables, doesn't really know the Air Fuel ratio, so you could be running rich.

That's never great. Hopefully not too much longer!
