is there anyway to open the trunk on my 98 LS.. just bought it, key doesn't work in trunk, guy said it hasn't since he bought it, and theres no button to pop it. he was never in the trunk in the 3 years he had it... help.. lol

 

does the back seats fold down? if so crawl in there and there should be a manual pull handle to release the trunk (its there in case you get locked in the truck lol)

 

Well, i just crawled my fat self through the back seat... there is no emergency release handle... lol any other ideas?

 

interesting.... i thought all cars were required to have that.... there is no trunk release butting anywhere? idk that car but inside glove box? on driver door? dash?

 

nope. no button... :/

 

if all else fails a locksmith can cut a key based of the VIN number
or can pick and replace the trunk lock

 

well i got it open.. crawled through and started poking around with a screwdriver.. when you put key in it feels awful loose. like no tumblers are moving at all.. if i buy a new one can a locksmith rekey it to my door key? i don't want 3 keys to one car...

 

98 might have been when you could still toss someone in the trunk, LOL
one of two things, either was a two key or ignition was changed making it two key and key two got lost

 

it's a 2 key. i have the ignition and one for the doors and glovebox

 

the trunk lock can be keyed to one of those

no surprises in the trunk? lol

curiosity gets to me, are the keys one with a round and and one square head?
