Default Trip

We will be taking about a 1500 trip in the ole Monte, she has over
114,000 miles on her. The tires are new, fresh oil change, just
replaced the drivers side axle, just looking for some info on what
else to check.Tranny still pulls good so I dont really want to mess
with a fluid change, will be driving in the mountains up and down
slow down speed up etc. etc. Thanks for any hints.

While in the mountains drive with it in "D" rather than Overdrive so you're not constantly changing gears and possibly ruin a transmission. Probably change the fuel filter, top off coolant, I would change the coolant if your car is new enough to have DexCool, drive for a while and check your trans fluid, if it is brown/black/or has frothy bubbles, you should have it flushed/filter replaced before you leave.

Hi `Bill,
I would have a basic repair kit, including a first aid kit.
I think the best thing to have with you today traveling
is a cell phone, & have help phone number's programed for
`help if needed.
I wish you a safe/fun trip in your Monte Carlo.
We will be look'ing forward to your post about your trip.
EnJoy your `Journey,
`Space
