Default Transmission Troubles

Hello all! I've been a member here for a while now, and sadly admit I haven't been that active. I have read many of the posts here due to having similar troubles, and learned a ton from this place. Now, though, I have to make a new post here begging for help.

The car I own: 2001 Monte Carlo SS 3.8 K car

The problem: my 4t65E slush box has finally crapped the bed at 234550 miles. The forward engage band has broken and I am having to shift like a clutchless manual, which is not good for anyone! I now have to replace the trans, which in and of itself is not that big of a deal. The biggest problem I have right now, is the fact that GM has dozens of variations of this box of crap 4t65e.

I have two current choices for transmission donors, they are a 1999 Monte Carlo with the 3.1, and a 1999 Lumina with the 3.8, each have the 4t65e. The problem is the gear ratios, electronic connectors, switch type, and fluid line connection types.I am finding conflicting information on the viability of either of these things. If one of the experts here would be able to help m,e with this, I would forever grateful....in other words, " Please help me!!! "
