Dex6 is an upgraded version of dex. It is compatible with Dex3 cars and should keep cooler than usual.

I have Dex6 in my transmission

Only downside to dex6 is that its thinner, if u already have problems(or a lotta miles it could cause to slip or leak

make sure that you are completely flushing out the current dex III when going to dex vi...may as well change the filter as well

If you check the service information, GM does state you CAN mix DexVI with DexIII and no issues.

And I would recommend you pan drop and do a fluid and filter change on the trans. I'm not a fan of flushes.

Keep in mind, pan dropping will not change the fluid in the torque converter. Some view it as an issue, I never have.

while i totally agree that you can mix dex III and dex VI, if your dex III is dirty and contaminated, you are going to contaminate the new fluid you are going to add...on the other hand if you have over 100k miles and the trans has NEVER been serviced, i would not do a flush...
