Default Traction control message coming on and dinging when traction control is off

The service traction control message comes up on dash when I am braking or engine braking. It doesn't stay on and keeps coming back every time. The car has no codes pop up on a obd2 scanner and no lights on dash.

Anyone have this issue?
my monte is a 06' 5.3L V8

Are you sure your obd scanner can do body codes / data? There are many that are powertrain (P codes) only.

Id start by logging all 4 wheel speed signals and go for a drive until the warning activates. May have one that's intermittently flat lining / or consistently outputting erroneous data and the ABS module doesn't know what to do with the data when braking as its out of allowable range. You're looking for one or more that doesn't match the output of the rest.

I tried your idea out and no luck, thanks for the idea though. The data showed all the same for each wheel and the warning came on. It also came on when I put the car in park before I removed my keys. Also my scanner is obd2 equipped it also has a few other settings on it for things not on obd2. I had some C codes come up for wheel speed sensors when I had it in gear driving on a hoist. But after I drove it around those went away. No luck yet with the traction control message

Those C codes are likely whats causing the Traction control lights. It relies on wheel speed sensors in the wheel bearings to control the ABS and TC systems.
Try and catch what the C codes are. And you'll likely find a bad speed sensor or wire going to the wheel hub/bearing assembly.

I looked through the C codes and found a bad speed sensor on the front right tire. I will get a new one ordered up and I hope that solves it. Thanks 👍

It always the front right!

Hahaha, I think other forum members can confirm, that for some reason, the front right speed sensor always has the shortest life-span. Not sure why.
Monte Carlos, Grand Am, Impala. All the same.
