7th Gen ('06-'07): Traction control message coming on and dinging when traction control is off
The service traction control message comes up on dash when I am braking or engine braking. It doesn't stay on and keeps coming back every time. The car has no codes pop up on a obd2 scanner and no lights on dash.
Anyone have this issue?
my monte is a 06' 5.3L V8

Are you sure your obd scanner can do body codes / data? There are many that are powertrain (P codes) only.
Id start by logging all 4 wheel speed signals and go for a drive until the warning activates. May have one that's intermittently flat lining / or consistently outputting erroneous data and the ABS module doesn't know what to do with the data when braking as its out of allowable range. You're looking for one or more that doesn't match the output of the rest.

Those C codes are likely whats causing the Traction control lights. It relies on wheel speed sensors in the wheel bearings to control the ABS and TC systems.
Try and catch what the C codes are. And you'll likely find a bad speed sensor or wire going to the wheel hub/bearing assembly.

It always the front right!
Hahaha, I think other forum members can confirm, that for some reason, the front right speed sensor always has the shortest life-span. Not sure why.
Monte Carlos, Grand Am, Impala. All the same.

Only realized this, now that youve said it. Lol
