I had this same issue happen a few weeks ago. I started my car, temperature gauge did not work and my air was blowing hot. As I was driving my temperature hand started reading again and my air was blowing cold.

Well yesterday same thing happened again. Started my car up and temp gauge not registering and the air is blowing hot. Can anyone give me some input and what this may be? Thanks!!
