Does anyone have any idea what would cause my temp. gauge to be pointing down? When i start up my car when it's cold the gauge starts off at the red and continues to rotate clockwise while it warms up. Basically it is 180 degress off. Any suggestions?

 

oh wow that is really wierd im no mechanic but something similiar happened to me awhile back. my dash said "engine too hot a/c off" but my temperature guage stayed at cold it wouldnt even move. if my car really was "too hot" then it would've been 180 degrees at the H. eventually i just left my car off for 2 days and when i started it again everything was back to normal. it never happened again thankfully.
