Any body experience temp guage bouncing all over after car is up to temperature.
mine does it sporadically. I've replaced sensor and ordered sensor wire tail but recieved a 2 wire tail mine is 1 wire.
Works Ok sometimes just getting annoying.
before I order the right wire reaching out for suggestions.

stepper motor? also check resistance on temp wires, they do get old and i had to cut and replace my air intake temp wiring.

 

Were stepper motors a thing in the 2nd gens?

 

Mostly a known issue from 2000-2006, but after many many years i might not rule it out

Your coolant level is low. Do a cooling system pressure test. Replace the radiator cap.
