6th Gen ('00-'05): Is the suspension systems the same on the different models
I have a 2005 Monte Carlo lt and I am looking at buying a 2003 Monte Carlo ss parts car to replace the suspension and possibly a few other things, do they have the same setup? Will it be an easy unbolt and bolt in?
Yes, the 2005 LT is the same as an SS of previous years. In 2005 the SS ONLY came with the supercharged L67, so they made the middle-LT trim and gave it the N/A L36.
Some things are weird, like the trunk lid of your 2005 won't have a keyhole, but the 03 will. But 99% of the car should be interchangeable for your needs.

Unless the parts car had a recent suspension refresh, I would question how worth while it is to use it for suspension parts.
- Struts probably have no gas in them to function properly.
- The vertical rubber bushings in the control arms are probably cracking/ripped/nearing failure.
- Much if not all the rubber bushings are probably very stiff/cracking.
- If it is from a location with bad winters, the sway bars are probably in questionable shape (especially the front, as it is hollow and tends to rot from the inside out).
- The grease in all the ball joints (tie rods, lower ball joints, and the rear sway bar end links) is probably dried up and rubber boots cracked open.
Just some things to keep in mind as you consider it for a parts car and the effort to swap things.
