Default Sunroof motor possibly going out

My sunroof hesitates every now and then when opening an closing and I'm pretty sure it might be the motor . Anyone got any onfo on where to get a new one? Besides dealer? I have googled it and really haven't come up with anything. I don't think it's the switch but well see. Any input is appreciated.

Have you applied white lithium grease on the runners to see if that helps? If that doesn't help, what year Monte is the sunroof motor for?

Mine was stuttering and clicking 2 yrs ago... I thought it might be the motor... Then I completely decreased the runs (sorry can't remember what I used) and re-applied white lithium grease, until today, it has performed flawlessly... Hope this helps...

I would try to degrease it like crusader said and re grease it with a light weight grease. I think that it gets gummed up and starts sticking.(i still need to do this) Mine works but doesn't open all the way by itself, you have to hit the switch a few times.

Mine was doing the same and I degreased and greased with white lithium and it only worked for a little while. I then called the dealer and asked them what they recommended for the sunroof rails and he said that they found that vasoline works the best. I degreased again and used Vasoline and my sunroof works fine now and has for awhile. I guess time will tell.
