Hey everybody. It's been a while since I have been on here but I need your help. I have a 2001 SS with the 3800. My problem is that when I turn the A/C on the clutch does not engage without tapping on the compressor. When you turn on the A/C you here the motor rev up a little in anticipation of the extra load but the clutch no worky. I can take a baseball bat and tap on the compressor a little and then the clutch engages just fine. I get really cold air in the car. If while driving down the highway I press hard on the gas then the compressor drops out like it should but does not reengage. I realize that I must be dealing with some sort of a poor electrical connection here but don't know what. When tapping on the compressor just one gentle tap is all that is needed. Anybody see this before or do I have a unique problem. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
