Starting Problem 2007 3.5 V6
I am new to the forum. I just bought a 2007 Monte LT with the 3.5 Liter V6. It has 150000 miles on it. When it runs, it runs great. I've had it for about 2 months and am having a starting problem. So far I have replaced the starter relay, the battery, and the battery cables since the battery cable was damaged by the previous owner. As of right now the car will not start.
When I turn the key, everything comes on. I go to start the car and the starter clicks one time and the lights dim. When this started happening, the door chime and the front speakers also quit working. I don't know if this is related.
I removed the starter from the car and bench tested it and it activated perfectly. I cleaned all the ground connections, and the starter. I reinstalled it and the same thing happened. I turned the key, all the lights came on, and the starter just clicked once. I've tried to jump start it in case it wasn't getting enough of a charge, but it didn't change anything. Is this a bad starter, or could it be something else? Also would anyone be able to verify which post on the starter the 2 cables attach? I want to make sure that they are installed correctly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it was a fuel supply problem the car would crank over but not start. It still sounds like there is an electrical problem somewhere, maybe a dirty connection, but it seems like you've looked at most of that.
Thanks for the ideas. Turns out it was the starter. One of my neighbors is a former GM Tech and he saw me out there working on the car. He came over and checked out the starter. Turns out the Bendix in the starter would work perfectly when out of the car but would not engage with the flywheel while installed. New starter and the car starts like a dream.
I'm still having the weird problem with the front speakers. Could it just be a bad ground on the radio?
Thanks,
LostSummer

Welcome to a great site. Glad you found out the problem with the starter. When you can post a few pic's of your car. And it wouldn't hurt if we knew your name also
