Default starter

ok have a Quick question my starter took a dump bunch of electrical smoke came from the location. what is the bolt size on the heads are they 13mm or are they a different size. I would like to take it off to see what the problem is. I checked all of the wires and every thing leading to the fuse relay box and checked the box as well. the engine spins I put a socket on the harmonic ballencer with the plugs out of it and spins freely. I admit I am a bad speller on some words and have horrible punctuation at times.

it is perplexes me on why the starter made that electrical smoke to be honest

Are the fuseable links on the power wire to the starter solenoid any good.On gen 6 cars they go to the alternator and the abs brake module. Imagine its same for gen 7 .
