Default speedometer Help for a new member??

[I] Hello all. I have a 1988 Monte Carlo SS. i recently put a 200-r4 transmission in it, and everything is fine except for the speedometer. my tranny has an electric plug (newer) but my original part is the manual cable. how can i get my speedo to work with the new tranny- (maybe a new speedo sensor), before i have to get a digital dash?? part name for conversion?I really need the help l[ Thanks./I]

id imagine youll end up having to get a different speedometer that's compatible with your speed sensor. what year is your new tranny, and what did it come out of? Ill try and do some research on it for you

thanks for the reply. I believe it came out of a chevy truck. not sure exactly of the year tho. ive looked everywhere for a conversion from the manual cable i have orignally to the plug i have on the tranny(which is electric). i assume there is a cheaper way to fix this small problem before i spend tons of money on a digital dash. I will take some pics when i go back to work of the tranny plug & my original cable to give a better idea. as far as right now he speedometer cable is just hanging without a place for me to plug it into the tranny
