Default sound of fluid rushing from under the hood

Hello, I have an 04 MS ss. I have noticed a sound coming from under the hood when I accellorate after backing up, that sounds like fluid is being pushed from one side of my car to another. Does anyone else have this sound? Is it normal?

Thanks

Sounds like your air conditioner evaporator drain hose is clogged up.My 2000 Monte Carlo had the same symptom, and eventually water leaked into the passenger's side making the carpet wet.It is a small bent rubber hose on the firewall approx.outside of where the glove box would be inside. You can pull it out pretty easily.I would guess over a quart of water came out of mine when I did this. The hose had a very small opening and was all crusted up inside.I cut the opening slightly larger, cleaned it up,and sprayed it with silicone for protection, and popped it back in.End of problem.

heater core...gms have the problem with them, mine does the same thing..and mine is a brand new car with 5000 miles on it...all gms do it...wont hurt anything though...you can have your system flushed to see if its clogged @ all, but it doesn't hurt much if everything is still working fine

does your window fog up as soon as you start the car??

Had that problem with a Cavalier at a dealership I worked at.Gm gave me a part # for a restrictor that goes into the heater hoses to the core to stop that noise. I am at work but when I get home I think I still have it in my tool box. I check and post the P/N. Wiz is right it don't hurt anything, Just annoying

BTW that is going to be a very fun job. I haven't checked it out myself, but when I was at the dealership to do tires, they had a 6th Gen Monte getting the heater core replaced and needed to remove the entire dash to do it.

Good luck on this project. Tell us what needs to be done too.

The restrictor for the heater hose is GM 15006022. IIRC is has been a while but it goes into the hose coming out of the core. Put it into the hose and clamp around it to hold it in place.

Thanks for all the replies. To answer some of the questions. no my windows do not fog up. I notice this to be more of an issue is cool temps (40's or so). Im not much of a car-parts guy, so do not mind me asking what is a heater core and where is it? Why does the heater core make a noise?

Thanks
