short problem

Default short problem

i have a 1980 monte carlo and it seems to have a killer short in it for instants everytime i hit a bump or push the breaks my radio seems to lose power and my headlights and dashlights will go very dim
ive had this problem for awhile but i just pulled and rebuilt my tranny and it got worse so i was wondering if anyone could help me wiht this and give me some directions on were to look for the reason behind this

sounds to me you have a grounding issue with that circut, also might want to find out if or why your radio is hooked in to that circut.

I agree, it sounds like a ground. You mentioned that it got worse after a tranny rebuild, that would tell me that a ground wire was left off or broken

thanks for the help went over the engine and found a broken ground on the back of the motor which grounded the motor to the body
