Could be any number of things...if you have any more info or a better description of the problem that would help.

If nothing else take the car to an Autozone or similar parts store, they will be able to do a quick scan and get the trouble codes...that will be a start in the right direction.

Check the spark plug wire to make sure it is on secure and not damaged on the plug and the coil. Also check the plug itself.

If the spark plugs have never been changed, that is definitely where I would start.

i agree, change the plug, maybe even wires. if the same problem occurs still you may have an injector sticking and bleeding down fouling the plug and saturating it with gas....it may happen once in awhile but not all the time. Injectors dont usually go bad but they can ocasioanlly stick in the way i described, yet still run fine for months without a trace of trouble. Drivability problems are fun....NOT

Also check to make sure it is properly gapped. Too much gap can increase the chance of a misfire because the spark wont always occur.

I would guess the coil packs are starting to give you problems, if the wire and plug are OK. These platinum plugs will last forever. I changed plugs and wires in my '01 SS LE, and still had the same code. Plugs were almost new at 85k mi, but spent way too much money and put new ones in anyway.
