Since I bought the car it's been doing this. It's not bad and you can't really tell but the rpm bounces around a little when it's right on the line at 1500 rpm. It doesn't bother me so it's no big deal if I can't fix it I just wanted to know why once the needle is idling on 1500 it will bounce from there to 1700 at the most and then back down.

 

Any codes? What engine? Seem to remember having a cam position solenoid issue causing that surge on a v6 impala at the shop, not too long ago.

 

Check engine light isnt on and it doesn't bother me but im not sure about any codes
