X2 on superbrightLEDs.com.. I have LED bright white lights in slightly tinted housing and the output is about the same as stock.

If my Monte was still my daily driver, I probably would have added backup lights somewhere under the rear or put a different housing and bulb set-up where the current reverse lights are.

I think I would add a small set of driving lights to the back of the car somewhere. If you put them under the bumper you would not see them unless you got down under it.

I run the 12-LED per fixture 921's, blue in color for my reverse lights ... UN-modded OEM clear lenses

These ----> 921 LED Bulb - 12 Wide Angle LED Mini Wedge Base | Miniature Wedge Base LEDs | LED Car Bulbs | Super Bright LEDs

You say you have clear OEM lenses. Did you get them from a Chevy dealer?

@YelloJac: No, I did not buy mine from a dealership because reverse lenses need to come from the factory clear per federal regulations ...

Additionally, putting ANY other color in them besides a "white/clear" bulb/LED fixture is most likely against the V&T code(s) in most states ...

Can you buy these clear lenses at a dealership because yours are broke, or have some that someone else modded? Absolutely.

Moreover, on the topic of the OP, I have never backed-up a vehicle, in my 20+ years of driving, that the light output of the reverse lamps have assisted in ANY way of illuminating what was behind me whatsoever ... & I have driven a lot of different types & brands of cars & trucks, etc ... That is why I do not run the clear/white LEDs for reverse lamps.

It is what it is, ... for me.

I hear ya Zeke! As a fellow CDL Driver I too know The Art of! "The Rear View Mirror!" But I live in an Urban area that is not well lit at all and YelloJAC is in the Big car category on my block. I would like to see a shadow or a reflection. The 2 street lights half way down the block ain't cuttin it. I'm very good but I ain't perfect and I don't want YelloJAC to look any more like a NYC cab from the rear! I'll check out those L.E.D.s and some A/M parts places! Every little bit helps! ;-)

Yeah same here. Also why I smoked my reverse lights. The Monte lights by no means thrown any good amount of light to see anything when backing up anyway. My Dad had an 84 K5 Blazer (sold late 1993) that he had installed full out headlights under the rear bumper of, and that was plenty of light to see a lot for quite a distance.
