Default Replacing Transmission

For anyone who has had their trans replaced, how much did it cost you? Mine dosent feel to good, and I fear it will need to be repaced.

What year?

A lot of transmission shops will take it for a free test drive. I'd make sure it's the transmission before you go toss a new one in. How is the fluid condition? What's the transmission doing (or not doing) that makes you think there is a problem?

It is a 2000 SS. I aint gonna get a new one put in until I know for sure its that. I think it could be the trans because when I drive, and come from a dead stop, the engine revs up to about 2500RPM, then it jerks real bad, and it goes down in RPM's, then when I go again, it does the same, goes up o high RPM's, then jerks, not as bad as going into 2nd, but still noticable. I got the trans flushed when I got the car about 4 months ago, it has about 85K on it. The trans felt awsome when it got flushed, but now, it's pretty bad. Just wondering how much it cost other people, or if someone knows it it is another problem.

I believe there was a TSB about this, something regarding the valve bodies in gears 1 and 2. Look into this, perhaps this is your problem. The repair may be cheaper than replacing a tranny.

yeah i hear ya but the good news is there are other mechanics and if needed for school you can find another good one there to it would make your life easier then trying to limb it back home for stuff while in school.

And if they are both good they can talk to each other on the car sometimes two is better then one.
