Replaced 2001 Transmission filter and had an extra part when I was done
After replacing my transmission filter on my 2001 Monte Carlo LS I found in my old trans fluid some sort of orange rubber thingy with a small hole in the middle and and a slit on each end of the hole. It measures 35mm long by 10mm wide by 5 mm thick. I am wanting to know where in my transmission pan filter area this came from so I can put it back cause it looks important.
Trying to find out where this part goes

Underside of transmission with filter removed

That looks like the coil module insulator under the 3 coil packs.. The hole in middle is where the hold down bolt goes..

I agree with ZJerry, that's EXACTLY what they thing looks like. Why was it in your trans stuff, no idea. But I think it's safe to say, it does not belong.
That's where I get all of my spare parts from that I use the next time something breaks! Can't go running off to NAPA all of the time. Gets pricey.
