Default Repair advice

I have an 2006 monte carlo lt amd yesterday i put car in Drive and wouldnt move then i cut car off and put in drive and it go even when i drive it stops driving like its in Natural any advice

Its a bit hard to follow, but sounds like a trans issue. Is the fluid level ok? Filter been changed on schedule? Positive that the selector is moving the trans arm to the drive detent?

If its not one of those 3, its unfortunately fairly likely that the trans is having internal issues.

Like Bumpin said maybe a Transmission service issue. How many miles on this car?
