Default Remove vents on a dash

Hi

I got a 74' monte.

How can i remove the deflecor vents on a dash?
I'm talking about the pieces to controls the way the air goes.

Do I have to really remove the whole dashboard?

Thanks for help!

Hi there. I have a '74 Monte as well! Post some pics!

Anywho, it is feasible to remove them with the dash in. However, it's easier when it's out.

The individual vents are actually installed in an entire assembly that must be removed first. For the center double vent there are 4 small screws going into the dash pad holding it on. The single one on the far right, there are two. For the one on the far left, it is attached to the bezel around the cluster - the whole bezel must be removed.

Once the whole assembly is out, THEN the individual vents can be removed.

In this picture, circled in red(though most are broken off of this one) are the tabs in which screws go through, into the dash pad.

Hi.

Thank you for information.
I can't post pics, because my car is being repaired.
I live in Switzerland and i have a lot of problem with my monte.
The biggest problem is that I have installed an Oldsmobile engine and not the original chevy 350 cui. And now all the problem must be solved for examine the car.

As soon my car is ready i will post pics .

Thanks
