6th Gen ('00-'05): raise the rear end
#11
I agree, lower the nose, jack the back. The GP's nose does look pretty low to me, perhaps looks to be only 4" or so off the asphalt.
Has anyone said they have raised their Monte's front end? I was wondering where your getting that from or have you perhaps seen one lifted?

It's not the bumps, it's the concrete stops in parking lots. It's the sewer caps that sit 4 to 6 inches over the asphalt. It's the pit hole that you didn't see at night that is going to eat your tire and rim. Now it gets a taste of Bumper first. It's also the fact that if you lower your front end you have to re aim your headlights. We Monte Carlo Lovers have a hard enough time seeing at night. No, not above 90. I hold a CEL class B. And although I am not using it I like having it in case I need a job. It cost me well over $600 to get my license back when I was young over Racing and having FUN behind the wheel. I now prefer looking good going down the road and knowing that if I need the speed, it's there waiting for me.

Good point Barbara!
I'm with Greg though. (Zippy)
Like him.. I to am all for lowering our model years of Monte's...
Don't get me wrong...
I'm an old school guy at heart.
I'm all for jacking the back up...with the older model/style Monte's etc...
I'm only doing a 1.3 inch drop on mine all around... and with my new ground effects kit it should look pretty Bad Azz! IMO
Since its not a "daily" driver and only for shows and or possible cruises...
I don't think the front air dam/ground effects is going to be an issue!

jc thanks for the info
this jersey winters been too cold to do any work
thinking of replacing whole rear spring shock assembly
did you use the poly or billet spacers? any more info on brand
I also just want it for looks
have heard dropping front can cause probs with cv joints
like the old school look too with the back higher, not performance worried about aero
think it will be negligible on mph

I like the looks of a car a little higher in the back, but I really like the long low sleek look of my Monte.

A lot of people at car shows are surprised that it's a front wheel drive car because of the way it sits.

Yeah This winter Suck-ith! Fortunately this is the last winter I will be on the East Coast!
Below are images of what I used to lift the rear of my Minion.
The first image is the wrong way to install them. They can slip and/or damage your springs
The second image is how they should be installed.
I learned this through trial and a lot of error with my 86 Firebird.
There are members who have have problems with these. Personally I have had no problems with them on 3 cars. The above Firebird, my 88 IROC 350 and now my Minion.
