Default Radiator leak caused overheat. Is there a reset?

My buddy wants to sell me his 2002 SS Monte. He said the radiator had a small hole in it and his girl drove it and it overheated and died, said it's been parked now 6mo. Does that model have a safety shut down in case that happens and can you do a simple reset after replacing the Radiator?? Please help!!!!

Yes, the 3800 series 2 has a built in safety feature that shuts the engine down if the temp. reaches a certain temp., maybe 240o, to prevent further engine damage. The PCM automatically resets after sufficiently cool. There is no manual reset, so if it still doesn't turn over after six months there's most likely a bigger, internal problem.
