Default Power Windows Issue-Question

My 1995 Chevy Monte Carlo Z34 has a issue with the passenger power window. Now, the window will go up and down. But using the driver side switch, i can only roll it down, not up. I have to use the actual switch on the passenger door to roll the window up. BUT, I can't roll the windows down with the switch on the passenger side, only the switch on the driverside door will roll the window down. I asked around, and I was told it the power window switch on both the driverside door and the passenger door. Just seeing if anybody has experienced this issue before.
Thanks!

Try opening up each switch and see if it's gummed up on the contacts.

The Haynes repair manual indicates checking the continuity of the switches. But I think I have had this issue as well. I changed the passenger switch first and that didn't do it so I had to change the driver side and all was well.
Maybe it would be good to change the driver side first and then the other.
The switches have no guarantee as what the dealer parts dept. told me.
Another option would be to go to a salvage yard and get a used one.
They are easy to replace so using the service dept. is a waist of money. Check ebay or amazon for switches.

Before you do anything else, ... douche switches on BOTH sides.

Walmart
$5.00
Electronic Contact Cleaner.

Disconnect battery.
Spray both switches.

You can simply use a Red Tube and shoot right into the switches.
Be absolutely certain that you buy the "Evaporates without residue" cleaner.

You can still find both OEM and Reproduction Switches online.
Some repro switches are better than stock.
