Default power mirror switch problem

my driver side window was having problems going up so i took my door panel off to see what was goin on and it looks like it just needs greese where metal is rubbing on metal but when i took off my door panel my green wire from my power mirror switch came out and i took out the switch to look at it and the wires are all in some kind of gel stuff so i cant re-connect my green wire again........would it be ok to dig out all the yellow gel to connect my wire? because im thinking that a new switch would be kinda expensive.

Kevin,

I would if I were you. At this point, what do you have to lose? I would be willing to bet that gel is corrosion preventative grease.

Let us know how it goes.
