If your not sure...check the tab on the rear end..if it doesnt have a "Tab"'

Jack the rear wheels off the ground, and turn the tire 1 revolution, and count how many time the drive shaft spins around...That should give you a close idea what gears in it now.... Example: 3 and 3/4 revolutions(drive shaft) would equal a 3:73 gear....
Good luck Hope this helps!

it is likely that it was the 2.41 becuase the 2.73 gearset only came in the the rpo NA6 which was a high altitude option

i personally would go with a 3.89 gear set so it's no slouch at the track yet still very streetable

also i would look for a 12 bolt from an a body, bolt in and go!

If I were you I'd be goin nuts trying to pick between 3.55 or 3.73. Your cars set up almost exactly like mine (sbc and TH 350) and I'm running 3.73's in my car. It did really good on acceleration (before the motor died) and it had a 305 in it, but gas mileage sucked and interstate travel is out of the question. With the added horsepower you have over my 305 I would go with the 3.55's. You still got the beefiness of a lower gear but its high enough to go 55mph without running 3500 rpms.
