How can I seal mine so this doesn't happen (without taking them off) is what I'm wondering. The car already has 130+k so I'm surprised I haven't also had to deal with this definitely. Hope you guys can find a way to touch them up.

What you can do to keep it from happening is find some of that clear rocker guard peel and stick material, cut it to the shape of each button and stick it over the control. Its really durable and the sticky backing is like superglue strength.

If the button is already worn, there is no fix other than replacement.
