Ok guys...this should be an interesting one.
My 97 Z34 (sry - i thought it was a 98) is now leaking oil. [:@] It only has 84k miles, and I really don't want to take it to a dealership or a shop and pay a fortune (I live in Michigan...anything to fix your car costs a fortune lol) unless I can take it somewhere to get it fixed cheap. The leak is intermittent - when you start the car, it will begin to drip ever so slowly, and after about an hour or two it stops when you turn it off from running for a few minutes. But if it's been running for a good while, I don't think it leaks... It's up on ramps right now, but regardless, it's dripping off of the transmission pan, NOT the oil pan. I know for sure it is motor oil. Also, there is a lot of oil wetness (not ordinary sludge) up around near the flywheel. Where could this be coming from, and what can I do??? It isn't affecting the car, really, but I won't transfer a plate to it until I'm done fixing it up, and I need to before mid October! Thanks for your help!!!

My first guess would be the oil pan gasket or the oil pan plug. Fix the simple things first. It's amazing how oil can travel along different places. Where at in MI are you? I live in South Central Michigan.
