Default Oil filter conversation

Howdy!

Another question here. If you don't know, I have a 1966 corvette 327 chevy small in my 87 monte SS.

Anyway, the 327 has a the old fasion oil filter cartridge and I know they make a converstion kit so you can fit another newer type of oil filter on that you would use in today's cars. I was wondering if all I had to do was just fit the conversation kit over the opening and pop on a new filter or is there more to it? What kind of kit would work? etc.

this is a reloction conversation. I rather keep the oil filter right where it is, but use a newer type of oil filter.
