oil change

Default oil change

ok, dont mean to sound like a newb here but tomorrow will be the first time that I ever changed my oil on my own. I know im getting 5 quarts of Mobile 1, but what kind of filter do i get? I looked today and there were like 4 different sizes to get... what size? and brand if you would. Any help is appreciated!

oem! acdelco filter? you can't go wrong with that and check? not sure on size but check the recommended filters for your car! it should not be that hard of a choice, just do the recommended? hope that helps!

Wix is a really good filter and go to a parts store they will get you the correct one no matter the brand you go with

i always use the best fram cause all the other frams are crap. its a very easy job. just watch out some oil is going to spill out of the filter when you take it off. i always put a garbage bag over my arm.

I agree with everything posted above. Purolator also makes a great filter. I use NAPA Gold filters, which are made by Wix. CarQuest also has a Wix filter.
Also, get the long filter instead of the stock shorty filter. It's the one for the 4.3 V6. More filter area, same filter.
You can get 5 qt. jugs of any oil at Walmart.
