No heat after water pump and t stat change
I have an 06 lt 3.5 and my water pump was leaking; So I finally thought I had the know how to change it with the help of this site. I think I was successful, but while idling the heat would not work, and the temp kept running high.
I searched for an thread about the bleeder valve but with no avail for this car. After running the engine a little more the temp finally stabilized," I did add a little more antifreeze,' but not the heat.
Does anyone know what is the cause of this problem and how I could get my heat back to working thx.

You have an air pocket in the system.
Here is what I've found to work best on those engines
1. Fill radiator up with coolant, put cap back on.
2. Start engine
3. Fill coolant overflow an inch or so over the full mark
4. Turn heater all the way up
5. Keep revving engine from idle to 3k rpm up and down for a minute or so
6. Let idle for 5 minutes
7. rev up and down for another minute or so.
8. Shut engine off for 5 minutes.
9. Fill radiator back up (be careful it's hot)
10. repeat 5-9
11. Fill radiator and put overflow on full mark. Should be good to go.
